FAQ

  • An Intimacy Choreographer (stage) and and Intimacy Coordinator (film) works with the whole production team to help create moments of intimacy in the production. Any time an actor physically touches another actor, we make repeatable, safe movements that align with each actor’s physical boundaries.

  • In this time of the #metoo movement, there is a growing realization of boundaries being unmet and actors feeling unsafe or experiencing trauma from what was required of them in production. This is avoidable by placing a person in the room who is trained to make these moments not only believable, but ensuring the actors are protected and safe.

  • I have been working with TIE (Theatrical Intimacy Education) for their Best Practices and Working with Actors training. Through this summer of 2025, I will add on five more aspects of training including mental health. While there is no “overall certification” recognized by SAG-AFTRA or Equity, the more training will better enable me to work in this field. I am also affiliated with an incredible mentor and team of other IC’s to help me in this journey.

  • This starts with a conversation with the director and team. We will decide what is needed for the story, what moments need to be worked, how much time will be required for both boundary practices and blocking, and for which rehearsals I am needed. We will then discuss what works for the budget given to the project.
